Male Pectoral Implants with Dr. Mendieta

Just as women undergo breast augmentation to enhance the size and shape of their breasts, there are plenty of men who desire a more masculine-looking chest. While some men are born with a flat and lean physique, others may not have been able to acquire the figure they want even after countless hours at the gym. Pectoral implant etching is a safe cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enhance the size and shape of a man’s chest to create a toned, defined, and attractive appearance.

Am I Good Candidate for Pec Implants?

Ideal candidates interested in pectoral implants should have at least 20 percent body fat and tissue to be able to undergo this procedure. You should also be in good physical health and have realistic expectations regarding your results. During your consultation, Dr. Mendieta will examine the condition of your figure to determine the best approach for your surgery.

What Can I Expect During My Procedure?

Pectoral implant etching is performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia and can take between one and two hours to complete. During your procedure, an incision is made either along the areola, armpit, or lower part of the breast. Once the incision has been made, the silicone implants are inserted under the chest muscles and positioned to create a more masculine appearance.

What Is the Recovery Time for Pectoral Implants?

Following your procedure, you will be asked to wear a compression garment to support your new contours and minimize swelling. You may experience mild to moderate pain for a few days, which can be controlled with medication. Swelling, soreness, and bruising should also subside after a few weeks. You may be able to return to work after one week. You can resume all normal activity four weeks after your surgery, but full recovery can take up to six weeks.

What will the Results be Like?

You can expect long-lasting results that can make your pectoral muscles look significantly larger and more masculine. Final results will become apparent a few months following your surgery, once all residual swelling dissipates and your implants settle into place.
